Description
It is a medium-small sized orchid, with epiphytic and occasionally lithophytic behavior. C. floribundum has ovoid pseudobulbs slightly compressed bilaterally, wrapped in 5 rough sheaths and bearing 5 or 6 curved leaves, linear-elliptical in shape, normally acute at the apex. Flowering occurs in spring, through a suberect inflorescence, 20 to 40 centimeters long, bearing a variable number of flowers (from 6 to 45). The flowers are 3 to 4 centimeters large, not scented and have lanceolate sepals much longer than the petals, both purple to red in color and a trilobed labellum with raised lobes of white color spotted with dark red

Distribution and habitat
C. floribundum grows in Asia, more precisely in Southern China (Yunnan state), on the island of Taiwan and in Northern Vietnam, in the shade of forests in ravines or on ridges, at altitudes between 400 and 3300 meters above sea level. It is also naturalized in Japan in similar environments.
