Description
SACRED FIG - FICUS RELIGIOSA, 10 SEEDS
Ficus religiosa also called sacred fig, is native to India, Thailand and Vietnam. It is considered sacred and is also called "tree of enlightenment". Semi-evergreen tree, whose deciduous leaves fall in the dry season, up to 30 meters tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 3 meters. The leaves are cordate (i.e. heart-shaped) with a particularly elongated tip; they are 10-17 cm long and 8-12 cm wide. The fruit is a small fig of 1-1.5 cm in diameter, green that ripens to purple. For balanced development, it is advisable to place your Ficus religiosa in a place where it receives at least a few hours of direct sunlight. It generally does not have temperature problems, as it can also tolerate not too intense frosts. However, it is always better to prefer a bright position, but with filtered light. Seeds, bark, leaves, fruits and roots are appreciated for their medicinal qualities. This is a splendid tree, among the most spectacular and suitable for development in the form of bonsai, whose cultivation gives satisfaction to both the beginner and the more expert bonsai artist.
