Description
FICUS BENGHALENSIS, 10 SEEDS
The banyan (Ficus benghalensis L.) is an evergreen plant widespread in the Indian subcontinent. Its most obvious characteristic is the aerial roots that, starting from the branches and reaching the ground, transform into as many trunks, thus enlarging the surface covered by each tree. The Ficus benghalensis is the national symbol of India and is considered sacred. A gigantic specimen was described by Nearchus during Alexander the Great's expedition along the banks of the Narmada River.
GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
Fill a container with the peat mixture.
Sow the seeds on the surface of the mixture. Do not cover, the seeds need light to germinate. Always keep the soil moist.
Place the container outdoors in full sun or partial shade if temperatures are above 24/25 degrees. If temperatures are too low, keep the container indoors under artificial lights.
Keep the soil moist, do not let it dry out. Germination occurs between 15 and 90 days.
Transplant the seedlings into individual pots when the leaves are well developed.
