Characteristics
Traditional Variety: A historic selection originally from Parma, loved for its superior quality.
Golden Tunics: Medium-sized bulbs with a splendid golden skin, which also makes them aesthetically attractive.
Long-lasting: Extremely long-lasting, they can be stored for months in a cool, dry place, perfect for winter supplies.
Delicate Flavor: White, firm and crunchy flesh, with a balanced flavor, ideal both raw and cooked.
High Germination: Our seeds are selected to ensure a high germination success rate.
Non-GMO: Non-genetically modified seeds for a healthy and natural harvest.
Cultivation
The Parma Golden Onion is a hardy and easy-to-manage crop. For best results, follow these simple instructions:
Sowing: Direct sowing in open fields is recommended from March to May, in rows 25-30 cm apart, then thinning the seedlings to 10-15 cm apart. Alternatively, sowing in seedbeds is possible, and then transplanting the well-developed seedlings.
Exposure: Requires a position in full sun for at least 6-8 hours a day.
Soil: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil with a good organic content. Avoid waterlogging.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not excessively so, especially during the initial stages of bulb growth. Reduce watering as you approach harvest time.
Harvesting: Onions will be ready for harvest between July and September, when the leaves begin to yellow and dry. Carefully remove the bulbs and let them dry in the sun for a few days before storing them in a cool, ventilated place.
With Parma Golden Onion Seeds, your garden will be full of authentic flavors and your pantry will be stocked for a long time!
