Cultivation
Winter Green Romaine lettuce thrives in well-drained, organically rich soil. For best results, follow these simple steps:
Sowing: You can sow directly into the ground or in seedbeds from August to October for a winter harvest, or in late winter (February-March) for an early spring harvest. Plant the seeds about 0.5 cm deep, keeping 25-30 cm between plants and 30-40 cm between rows after thinning.
Exposure: It prefers full sun exposure, but also tolerates partial shade, especially in warmer regions.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, without waterlogging. Regular watering is essential to prevent premature flowering and keep the leaves tender.
Care: Thin out seedlings when they reach 5-10 cm in height, leaving the most vigorous ones. Protect young plants from slugs and snails.
Harvesting: The leaves can be harvested individually as they grow, or the entire plant can be cut when the head is well formed, generally from November to March, depending on the sowing period and climatic conditions.
With Winter Green Romaine Lettuce, you'll always have fresh, crunchy salads, straight from your garden!
