The genus Rosa belongs to the Rosacae family. There are about 2000 species spread throughout the temperate zones of the northern hemisphere and along the Pacific Ocean. The fruit called rosehip is formed by the enlargement of the receptacle and the seeds ripen inside (called achenes, yellow or brown in color). The rosehip can be more or less large depending on the species, elongated, fleshy, variously colored and constitutes an excellent decorative element.
