Variety from Bolivia. The name “Rainbow” comes from the singular color variations assumed by the fruits during their ripening.

The plant looks like a branched bush; the branches tend to slender upwards, reaching 80-90cm in height. The leaves, lanceolate, are green-violet in colour and contribute to enhancing the decorative aspect of the plant. The flowers have purple petals with white spots; they are usually found in number of one per node and have an erect bearing.
The fruits, rather spicy and almost ovoid in shape, have an erect shape and smooth exocarp; they can reach a length of 2.2-2.4 cm and turn from purple to white/yellowish to orange and finally to red when fully ripe.

Particularly recommended for the composition of flowerbeds given the highly decorative appearance of the plant and its fruits.

For good germination maintain a constant temperature of 28 - 30 degrees.
